At 4:31 a.m. on Oct. 14, a watermain rupture on Kennedy Road near McNicoll Avenue in Scarborough created a sinkhole that forced the road to be closed.

The closure caused traffic delays and required bus routes to be detoured, with Toronto Police and the Toronto Transit Commission coordinating the response.

The event underscores how watermain failures in Toronto can damage streets and trigger emergency actions to manage traffic.
