Fairfax County reported that its Road Shark safety initiative issued a total of 60,000 traffic citations and warnings during 2026. The program, which began in April 2026 in cooperation with Virginia State Troopers, focuses on curbing unsafe driving throughout the county.
The large number of citations reflects the program’s goal of improving roadway safety for all motorists in Fairfax County.
